September 2009

Pepper's made the first score this month.
An Aggie egg!
Another Aggie egg and three from the big girls.
Clover seems to have become an ornamental bird.  No laying for her.
Aggie's back laying and in her boldest mood, and clever today too.  Crow opened up the menage and all chicks went in to play.  While 5 of them had a mutual sand bath and looked like they might dig for Australia, Aggie quietly left them and came to find us having coffee.  Of course she was very spoilt with a whole chicky biccy to herself, followed by tomatoes.  She jumped on the table between us and walked to and fro across my lap.
Aggie has just laid her 5th consecutive egg!  Since she started to lay again on 2nd, she just hasn't stopped.
Poor Clover seems to be a little nervous and bullied at the moment.  Sometimes one of the other girls only has to look at her and she runs away.  I'm concerned she isn't getting enough to eat.  She doesn't stand her ground for food when we lock them up in the evening, but goes straight up to the top perch.  For the last couple of nights we've hand fed her a bit titbits on the perch.
Noisy announcements this morning, and no wonder, 5 eggs, everyone laid but Clover.
Yet again Aggie managed to quietly slip away and find us having coffee and I shared my banana with her.
Oh no, suddenly and without warning, a broody Lacey.
Despite Pepper sitting in the nest, just an Aggie egg today.
Aggie has laid today but there are signs of oncoming broodiness.
- 26 Nothing to report, whilst we are away.
As we suspected, we've returned to a deeply broody Aggie.
Aggie had to go into the broody pen this morning.
A whole month without an egg from Clover.
Scores on the doors:  Salt 25, Pepper 14, Tat 14, Aggie 15, Lacey 6, Clover 0
