Breadmaker 5 Apr - Mixed grain bread. 19 Mar - Pesto & pine nut. Is there no end to wonderful bread ideas? Could be my favourite so far. 12 Mar - Brown olive bread, that's brown bread with olives, not bread with brown olives! Lovely texture & taste.
3 Mar - Cherry & Chocolate Chip Cake. Tasted ok, but not too impressed with the texture (too heavy) and outside was a little overcooked.
24 Feb - Parmesan & sundried tomato bread
22 Feb - Raisin bread, another success!
Unlike the Hinari, this is a single paddle breadmaker which I hope will be more resilient & reliable. Opinion seemed to be that, in the twin paddle Hinari, one paddle would be driven from the other - an added complication which failed? Description Features
Ordered for £37.96 from Amazon on 15/2/20065, delivered 3=17/2/2006.
Hinari HBM230 Variable Loaf Twin Paddle Breadmaker So, just how good are Tesco customer services? I looked at the Tesco website with regard to faulty goods and it only
mentions returns and refunds. I emailed them at 12:34 (8 Feb)
explaining the problem and saying that I really want a replacement, not a
refund. I received a very speedy response at 12:53, saying return
the goods for examination and I have replied saying how shocking it would be for such a "multi-national, multi-million pound profit making company" not to replace faulty goods. I await better news, but not with much hope. This is where the old cynic in me kicks in, wondering whether their special offer was just an attempt to shift old stock. I see the only breadmaker on their website now is retailing at over £70! 8 Feb 20:57 - well hush my mouth, another email tells me that "As the item is not over the 14 days approval, we are able to reorder the goods. Please allow 3/7 working days for the replacement order." What a pleasant surprise, I'm very pleased. 10 Feb 14:08 - too good to be true? Tesco have changed their minds. The excuse is "We are unable to send you a replacement order as the following item is currently sold out". I'm still arguing that this is totally unacceptable........ Meanwhile the faulty goods have been collected by Tesco's courier. 12 Feb 14:48 - whatever next? Tesco now claim to have sent me two cheques totalling £104.47 in error, which they have cancelled (as of 18 Feb, they haven't arrived). They are adamant they cannot replace the item as it is sold out. I'm still arguing as this seems a weak excuse since it was "sold out" when I purchased, hence the month-long wait for delivery. 13 Feb 14:13 - they won't relent so I am forced to give up and move to another supplier.
Sundried tomato bread, 8 Feb. Very tasty, I'm very disappointed that the breadmaker has developed a fault and must be returned.
Banana & pecan cake, 7 Feb. Texture not 100% perfect, but very tasty nonetheless!
The first attempt on 1 Feb 2006 - olive bread. Delicious!
