Well, this has kept us busy for a few weeks, but it's always worth it.

Great to see so many like-minded people doing crazy things in our woods and field.

A HUGE THANK YOU for your combined generosity of donations and purchases.. We raised £350.85 (and still a bit more promised) which will be gift-aided to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. (We believe the chickens raided their treats money box for the the odd 85p).

The photo gallery has captured some of the fun and award winners. Let us know if you want any full-sized copies.

Thanks for your support.

Ray & Christine

The competitors ...

Ally Keyes
Newbie and Overall Champion for the day. Joint best silly walker. Lots of points early on and just held her lead at the end.

Malcolm Heymer
Frequent attendee and successful Pegularitist and Leg-abilitist, who took second overall with a string of consistent performances.

Robert Price
Prolific Puzzle cacher from Milton Keynes who had a busy day of Rally Round caches (avoiding Bees), Crowlympics then more Rally Round caches. Stamina enough to take our overall bronze medal.

Steve Keyes/Kirsty Keyes
Longfield debutants who soon got into the swing of our our mad events but couldn't keep up with mum. Kirsty finding silver capsules like tempting sweets and Steve tossing chickens like he'd been doing it all his life.

Sylvia Price
Casual participant today as she wasn't feeling great. Brought along a carrot cake and bakewell tarts (thanks!) which were gobbled before I got near them.

Len/Wendy/Sarah Graves & Chris Lee
Len, intrepid explorer, multi-sporter and Longfield supporter from Woodbridge who brought Wendy and offspring to experience Tolleshunt Major silliness. Dad and daughter took home Average Speed medals.

Melanie Nel/Ray Bashford
Caching fanatics and winners of the Treasure Search Trial - just. Loved their stealth in the woods by calling out the numbers in Afrikaans!

The Woosey Family - Angela/Alice/Alexander
Tudwick Roaders but without dad, Robin, who had to work. The young A's took home a medal each for their efforts.

Dave/Sandra/Shawn/Claire/Ellie/Joshua Beckerleg
A huge family outing who went away smiling with two Gold and two Silver medals.
Thank you Sandra for the fruit salad, and strawberry and cream scones and to Claire for the fairy cakes.

Peter Hayes
Regular attendee from distant Hampshire. Never seen him without a smile! Grabbed a Gold Medal on Flag Distance.

Peter Rymill
Late arrival which upset his rhythm. Took home a Footpath Walk Silver Medal.

Grahame McCord/Gilly Ryan
GPS-less geocachers who could find a pin-head in a haystack but only conjectured 28 of the 30 silver bisons! They probably ran out of time as Grahame had to fix one in the woods after destroying its location. He took home the "Muck Up of the Day" prize of a Crowlympics mug for this clumsiness and G&G captured the Word Search silver medal.

Gary/Dan Thurlow, Julie Turner
Neophyte threesome who were only one of four who had a full Treasure haul and they whiskered the Gold Medal on the Word Search. Gary was best on Flag Distance and just missed the Champions podium.
Dan was reprimanded for frivolous bids for the auctioned Crowlympics mug.

Stuart/Isaac Whenmouth
Stuart was overall champion in 2010 and a pre-Crowlympics favourite to take home some prizes. Not much luck this time and Isaac had the best family performance with a close 3rd in the Chicken Tossing event. Stuart was scolded for trying to use a theodolite to measure flag distance!

Bob/Mary Turner
More newbies that I've tried to get here for a few years. Steady run but I think their best performance of the day was finding Crow's Nest and the Bonus. Oh, thanks for the wine.

Special Mention to:

Christine
Head of Catering and Venue management.

Ron Levy
BBQ Chef and hugely responsible for getting the Longfield grounds nicely tidy.

Absent Friends:

Anne Culverwell
Had a daughter commitment but generously provided yummy fruit and sponge cakes.

Grahame/Jean Points
Get Well Soon Jean and thanks for the donation.

Paul Carlier/Andrea Weston
The first Longfield event they haven't managed to get to. We missed you. Thanks for the donation.

Oh, BTW, the Chicken Tossing competition drew such an audience we have applied to the IOC to get it included in the next real Olympics. See you in Rio? You can see a variety of tossing techniques in the photo gallery.

Here's the full results table.
Don't ask me how the medals were awarded, it's all too complicated!
Suffice to say that, remarkably, every family went away with at least one medal. ;-)
